Story
Today, after more than 100 years of successful company history, Ammann of Switzerland stands for shoes that combine alpine charm with fashionable elegance. Marc Ammann, the fourth generation to lead the company, is constantly developing new lines for the international market.
Origin
The company's roots date back to 1917. Alfred Ammann-Bodmer founded a shoe factory in Oberentfelden, initially producing slippers. In 1945, his sons Kurt and Hugo Ammann took over the company; a new factory building was built in 1950, and in 1951, Hugo assumed overall management after Kurt's death.
Michel Jordi
In 1993, Rolf Ammann and Michel Jordi launched the "Michel Jordi Ethnic Shoes". These became a unique success story in Switzerland and Germany. There were waiting lists at shoe stores, something unprecedented. Everyone wanted the cool, colorful ethnic shoes. The shoes were presented for the first time at a "press breakfast" in Zurich at the Hotel Savoy. Between 1993 and 1999, over 300,000 pairs of shoes were delivered, a unique success story.
